Lovely stay even though just one night, staff very attentive and helpful
Lovely hotel room, old fashioned with a modern twist
Our room was far too hot even with radiators off, windows were sash style and did not open, fan was provided but still not enough. Sink cold tap would not switch off, this was reported, it kept dripping/slow flow. Steps to our room was difficult for one person that accompanied us, needed more handrails on both sides.

not pleasant would not stay there again
Breakfast was good and Steve was very helpful. made a good breakfast and would always come and greet you as an individual. the bed was comfortable and tv in the room was good enough
when i got there i knew i was early but when flying from 6000 miles away its not like you have a choice. i went to let them know i was there and ask where to wait but i was greeted with attitude. i was told they had not read my emails that i had sent and frankly this was not good enough. bedroom the worn carpet, rotting window frames, very noisy flush on the toilet and a health and safety issue of the radiator being held up by a block of wood with 2 screws sticking out at foot height. when it rained hard a wet patch formed on the carpet. could not complain about it as on the first day was told if they had any more "ATTITUDE" from me they would kick me out

A little dated
The staff were very friendly and helpful . Location of hotel close to rail and bus stations.
The single room I had was very dated, eg the built in radio, obsolete about 25 years ago. I think this particular room was overpriced, £30 would be a fairer price. That said the bed was comfortable and the shower efficient.
